You probably know the pattern. After boarding, after a move, after a holiday, he is more tired than usual. Perhaps a little cough from the dog park. Perhaps he is scratching more again. After a few days it is all over \u2013 but each time it costs him something.<\/p>\n
That is no coincidence and no character flaw. That is immune biology.<\/p>\n
The immune system is not a switch that is on or off. It is a network of cells, messenger substances, mucous membranes and gut flora \u2013 and this network consumes resources.<\/p>\n
Under stress, demand rises: more cell division, more messengers, more oxidative load. A city dog has plenty of that. Many social contacts at the dog park, changing environments, traffic, pollen, fine dust.<\/p>\n
It often becomes visible first not at the nose but at the skin: recurring itching, paw licking, ears that keep being an issue. Skin and gut are themselves part of the body's defences \u2013 which is why \"skin\" and \"immune system\" are more closely connected than the separate shelf rows at the pet shop suggest.<\/p>\n
The second version of the formula contained black cumin seed oil. In humans a well-studied classic, and it would have looked good on the label.<\/p>\n
We removed it again in version 3.0. The reason: the safety picture in dogs is not clear enough for us \u2013 dogs metabolise some plant compounds differently from humans, and for a product given daily over months, \"probably unproblematic\" is not enough.<\/p>\n
We write this here because it belongs to the matter: leaving an ingredient out is an uncomfortable decision. It makes the list shorter and the story less spectacular. But you should know the standard by which we formulate.<\/p>\n
