Soft stool, changing consistency, flatulence in the evening, gurgling in the belly, occasionally a day when he skips breakfast. None of this is dramatic. All of it is a hint that something between bowl and utilisation is not running smoothly.
Why a dog's gut falls out of rhythm faster than you would think
The dog's digestive tract is built for meat and for speed – considerably shorter than in humans, with a very acidic stomach. What it can do only to a limited extent, however, is balance out fluctuating conditions.
A change of food, an antibiotic, an overly generous leftover from the Sunday roast, a phase of stress – and the composition of the gut flora shifts within days. It usually settles again by itself. But in some dogs this takes longer each time, and in some a residue remains.
Four angles of approach instead of one
Prebiotics (inulin, fructooligosaccharides) feed the bacteria that are already there.
Probiotics – microencapsulated, with a strain authorised in the EU for dogs – add new ones.
Digestive enzymes, likewise microencapsulated, support the breakdown of food.
Structured fibre from psyllium husks and microcrystalline cellulose gives the gut content structure. This is the part most products leave out – and often exactly the one that makes the visible difference.
Plus salmon oil, turmeric and ginger.
Why ginger is in here – and not in the cat version
If you know our cat product: there we deliberately removed ginger and camomile, because cats can break down plant compounds only to a limited extent.
In dogs, this metabolic pathway is intact. So there is no reason to withhold two traditionally proven digestive plants from them – the same care leads to a different decision in a different species.
We write this here because with us, the same product name does not mean the same formula. Dog and cat are two different animals, not two sizes.
Why the living cultures go in last
The nano refinement with ultrasound happens before the probiotics and enzymes are added. After that, ultrasound and high shear forces are off limits – they would destroy exactly what you buy the product for. That is why this part is microencapsulated and stirred in by hand at no more than 30 °C.
Dosage: 1 millilitre per kilogram of body weight
A 10 kg dog receives 10 ml daily. Introduce over ten to fourteen days, starting with about a quarter – with a product that changes the gut flora, this is not optional, but the difference between effect and diarrhoea.
The formula is thicker than our other products. That is the fibre, and it is meant to be that way.
